. Although I think you might be pleasently suprised with what Ford could potentially have done by 2010...don't even fool yourself though...the ls9 is never going to make it into the Camaro...

The LS9 doesn't need to make it into the Camaro to embarass the GT500. The LS7 will suffice....
But you are correct, that is assuming the GT500 doesn't change in the near fututre....

Guess you didn't read the article.
The Camaro is getting the LS3 engine.
Probably in a few years they will offer a special edition car perhaps with a different engine.

The ls3 camaro would probably cost close to the msrp of the GT500 if not the same.
Let's break it down with some logic here.
The last high end camaro cost around $35,000. Now add the ls3, the newer frame complete with irs, inflammation for the past 5 years,andI really think the msrp will be really close to the GT500. Add on dealer markup, and you could easily be in the same skyrocket markup category, yes? [8D]

Markups not included, why would GM be so stupid to price them so high???? An LS3 Vette retails for mid 40's, and there will be a sudstantial price drop between it and the upcoming Camaro. And let's not forget what GT500's went for when they came out.....

why cant ford get with the program, i hate to scare you guys but huydai i coming out with the genesis coupe next year, a dohc v6 making 320hp, w a 6 speed option, oh yeah, weighs the same as its target competor: Mustang GT
oh yeah its onbly gonna cost 25,000$
