2011 Mach1 rendering

Well, the last-gen Mach 1 was the same 4.6 set up as the GT, only with the shaker hood and some other parts. So Ford could just do that again with the 5.0 serving double-duty. I'm sure it'd sell really well. Heck, if Ford said they were putting out a Mach 1 with the same look as this rendering, I'd put a deposit on one first thing in the morning.

I was just talking with the Wife about possibly trading in our 05 GT for a new 09 or the new 2010 GT, but the 5.0 is too good to pass up, so I'm hoping to add a 2011 GT with a 5.0 to my driveway next year.

well best bet if they were to go 5.0 is to have the Mach 1 sorta like they did with the C/S stang.... more for the appearance. But hey... I like the pics so far if they decide to go with the pics that have been already posted. Though I'd buy used & let someone else take the depreciation hit.

I think if they did produce the Mach 1 they could market to a different crowd besides the drag racing crowd. Maybe produce the Mach 1 with a little boost in performance something like 25-50HP max of the base GT. Maybe bring back the IRS rear suspension to improve handling, couple that with lowering it by about an inch with the handling package, through a slightly more aggressive sounding exhaust on it and of course have the shaker scoop bringing fresh air to the motor. Throw on a small upgrade to the brakes nothing big maybe just better pads on the stock calipers and rotors along with maybe functional brake cooling ducts like in the rendering.
If the could make it for around high 30K-mid40K range i think they would sell like hotcakes to the road racing crowd or just to any of the older guys that want to remember the days when they owned an original Mach 1
