2011 Mach1 rendering
Rumors have been flying around for quite sometime about Ford bringing back the Mach 1 moniker for 2011. It's been six long years since the last Mach 1 was produced and we already know there will not be a 2010 Mach 1 Mustang but we are still holding out hope a 2011 Mach 1 Mustang is in the works with the much hyped return of the 5.0-liter motor.
The above renderings were done by Edmundo Cano and I must say they are truly life like. These renderings show his view of what a 2011 Mach 1 Mustang would look like if it was produced on the new refreshed body. The matte black color of hood, shaker scoop, roof, side stripe, rear wing and rear window louvers give it the classic Mach 1 look. The 20-inch retro wheels add a modern look to an already potent Mustang. All around we have to say his rendering will probably be close to what Ford would produce. Props to Edmundo Cano on some great Photoshop work.

I'd pass. All I care about is that the GT gets the 5.0. Chances are very slim that the Mach 1 would offer anything that would be worth the price (for me that is). I'd take the GT and do what I want with it. I can't see them making anything between the GT and the GT500. Unless they put a huge premium on the GT500 being a street and drag car, while the Mach 1, Boss 302 was a strictly cornering setup.

I have to agree with sponkey on this. If the GT will be getting the new 5.0, I'm not sure what Ford could do to offer a new Mach 1 or Boss unless it was an appearance/bolt-on package of some sort. The supercharged 5.0 is already reserved for the GT500/Cobra, so that doesn't leave an intermediate V8 motor option open for another SE Mustang.
And don't bring up the 6.2.......because I'm getting tired of telling ppl that that motor does not physically fit into the current Mustang chassis.
FWIW, while I think it's a nice rendering....I'm still a bit partial to this one (even if the chin spoiler is a bit overdone):
It's just much cleaner and more elegant.

I like, but as said before, what would they put into it (engine, or interior) that would make it worth the mark up they would charge for it? With the 5.0 coming...I dont see much room for anything better that wont go to the Cobra/500...

I thought I read somewhere, probably these forums that they are bringing a 6.2L engine or something like that into the equation? But what will the GT500's engine be 2011? The same as now??

The GT500/Cobra will be getting a supercharged version of the GT's 5.0. There are alot of ppl playing wishful thinking about the 6.2 coming to the Mustang, but that's all it is for now.........wishful thinking. The 6.2 was built for truck duty, and is too big for the current Mustang's enginebay. Maybe for the next redesign someone at Ford might get crazy enough to drop one under the Stang's hood, but it's not happening anytime this generation.
