Actually theres still quite a bit of dealer mark up on them. People are still having trouble getting their pre-orders let alone finding one at a dealership.

I just dont see GM pooring more money into the Camero line up; base, SS, ect. I think the gov. is going to make them give up the fun toys and focus on the DD cars that the basic american can afford. But thats just me.

Chevy has always been cheaper to mod and right now they have a hit with Camaro. I'll take a new Camaro for 40,000 any day over the new Stang.

I don't like the Camaro's interior materials and room, along with the trunk space. I like to take my Stang on road trips so luggage capacity and interior comfort are important to me. I think the car looks awesome and the SS/RS is a hot package, but I would rather have a GT500.

Compare a 30k car to a 48k and lose by 1 tenth in the 1/4 mile..wow. That test just made Ford look bad. Sure the GT500 can pull a better time than that, but jesus. Isn't there a 100+hp advantage to the GT500?

12.8 @ 115mph. is all I can say. The only thing we can conclude from their little drag test is that their drivers obviously can't drive for shat. Guess it does make some of the new SS owners feel better though. Maybe like the one I saw at the track last week who couldn't muster anything better than a 13.7 in his new SS. 540hp and running a 12.8. 426hp and running 13.7. These are not drivers to make benchmarks out of.

People can get 12.8 out of a S197 GT with CAI/Tune/Tires, you don't think a car with 240hp above that, can do any better?
