I guess everybody gets their wish. The 5.0 with over 400 hp. That's all fine and dandy but, it's not that big of a deal. Because, I'll bet Ford is not going to let it outrun their GT500 from previous years with those poor folks paying 40-50,000. So, the V6 is not going to be all that far from the V8 in speed now. Yes, the V8 will be faster but, not by all that much. So, I expect the V6 price to be jacked up or the V8 price to stay nearly the same. The main thing to me is to make it a nicer/better car visually inside with more features and nicer overall ride.
with my dealings with media groups, i dont believe that anything "leaked" is actually leaked. the companies know what they are doing and things come out when they want them to...but i would love to see this 'proof'. has anyone seen the facebook or myspace post that started this?

Ford is not concerned with the pride of past Mustang owners, if they were they would not have made a V6 capable of hanging tough with GTs from just 7 years ago and even making last year's GT have to sweat to stay ahead. I don't buy Ford castrating the '11 GT to make the 2010 and older GT500 owners feel better about themselves. They now actually care about making a better product today, and screw the past. They want you to want today's car over your own, and that means having a killer product. We should be happy, not begging Ford to keep our previous purchases from slipping into obsolescence. Go aftermarket if the new GT gives you fits or stays too close to your tail and it bugs you.

Why wouldn't you?
300hp vs. 412hp
Couldn't have said it better myself.

Yes, I have my 06 GT f/s because I want the 2011 GT500 if it has the 5.4 aluminum block. As far as the 10 GT goes the ride, interior, handling are much better than my 06. Now throw in 412 hp and its a no brainer.
