A shame. If I was a LEO I would have been looking forward to something RWD.

Isn't AWD > RWD?

mustangcat 03-13-2010 12:46 AM

And is'nt AWD 80% RWD and 20% FWD?

Maybe I read wrong but it sounded like AWD was going to be optional......while most units would use the standard Taurus FWD. Also sounds like AWD will be more expensive, so I wouldn't count on most purchased units having it. Like I said........I'd rather have RWD. Also, a turbo charged AWD car sounds like a nightmare for motorcade mechanics to keep up with (compared to the simple as pie Crown Vic). But that's just me......and I'm certainly not in law enforcement, so I guess it doesn't matter.

True, from a dependability standpoint I can see AWD + turbos being less dependable than a a solid axle RWD + V8 torque.
I was thinking purely from a performance/chase point of view.
