Starting with 2011, the Shaker 500 audio system of the premium Mustang replaces the 6-disc changer with the same single CD player as the standard Mustang.

That's ok - I plan to use the heck out of the USB jack and (six-month) free Sirius subscription.

just an FYI... I have that system in my 2010... fully loaded and it does not have a 6 disc... I believe they went away with that in 2010 because of the hard drive, USB interface, and the sat radios

No tears shed for the Skipper 500 if you ask me. The 500 CD drive unit in my 05 is all but unusable these days. As soon as I can find me a decent aftermarket setup it will be coming out. I've got 2 mp3 devices that can hold every song I own......I don't need no stinkin' discs anymore.

am I just missing it and haven't noticed it for 6 months. Do you have navigation? and is it an in dash changer?

I use the 6 cd changer a lot in my shaker 500.. I do a lot of highway driving and I fill it with mp3 books on cd... i'd say that is a negative.. on the other hand...

Maybe it's a positive if it fixes the battery drain issue? lol!

I have a six disc and only use it if I forget my ipod...which is usually never. The fact that ford is adding a USB instead of just an aux jack is pure win. I currently have an aftermarket hard wired ipod adapter and it gives me problems from time to time.
