With all the development in the 6.3L I would think thats the next step for the cobra.

well i do hope to see a 6.2L in a mustang one day but i dont think it will come till after the redesign of the car because from what i hear the motor with full accessories will be near impossible to fit into the engine bay

also if you wanted to have all forged internals installed in the 5.0 motor id estimate it to cost 4-5k(parts and labor) so that brings the price difference down plus the GT500/cobra will have a much more refined suspension, plus all the body changes and interior changes. you have to remember its much more than just a motor change there is alot more that goes into making a GT500 different from the base GT

^+1 agreed. When purchasing my Saleen I priced out every piece I could to see if it would be cheaper for me to purchase a GT and do the mods myself. When I calculated the number I used that as a negotiating tool. You would be surprised how quick those "minor" changes add up.
