News on the 2014 Ford Mustang

Well, not that concept one. The natural gas concept Charger was before this one you linked. The rear doors were much much smaller, and they opened out suicide-style, kind of like how the 05 F150 extended cab mini rear doors open up.
And the front end of the natural gas Charger was true to the 68-74 Chargers, with hide-away lamps in the grille. Not integrated lamps in the hood.
Although, if Charger must go sedan, the concept you linked should have been it. The Crysler 300 is an UGLY car. That should never ever had the Charger name slapped on it.

I have to say, and sorry to those who still view the 2011's as retro-cash-ins, that the newest Stangs look pretty damn close to perfect in the forward and side profiles. I say.......tweak the frontend and sides a little bit more (sexier and more aggressive is always a safe bet) and then go with a totally badass rearend redesign. THAT will make for a great 2014.
You just can't scrap the design that Ford rebooted the Mustang with in 05 in suddenly come out with something totally unrelated. You're going to kill the market for the car. There's plenty of middle ground to be had here. The 2010-2011's have done a great job of blending the 05-09's retro with more modern styling formulas. All Ford has to do is continue in that direction. This isn't about "retro" anymore....this is about identity. Ford has made the Mustang relevant in the public eye again with what it has done during the last 6 years. You can't sidestep that without risking damage to that identity. You don't go back to the drawing board for something that is working......you build on it.
Say what you will, but when people see a 2011 Mustang......they KNOW it's a Mustang without having to look at the badges or read the brochure. Like I always say to people who complain about the Mustang's current styling: there's a reason GM needed to put "Camaro" badges on its 5th gen ponycar. You don't want that for the next Mustang.

Actually, if all the mid 70's thru 98's vanished I wouldnt miss them. The 93-98's were FUGLY.
Some times reinventing a loved car is a bad thing.
Compare these numbers Mustang vs Camaro.......
Notice what happened to Camaro when they "reinvented" the car in the late 90's.

They evolved the design into some thing that nobody wanted.
I couldnt agree with that statement more......

Kinda like today...
I'm betting the 2014 Mustang retains the backseat, but gets smaller.

Damn...and here I thought the rear of my 2005 mustang GT was ugly...which is why I had no problems trading it for the 2010....

Yeah you know when I first saw the 2010s I didn't like them much. I think that was just the initial shock to the system though... when you see a new design for the first time. After having owned a 2007 and a 2009 GT, I honestly like my 2010 better. I love the "hips" under the rear quarter windows, the pissed off looking front end, and yes, I even like the rear end.
