and I'd say the GT500 is what the 03/04 cobras are to it.

Maybe in price and pecking order but I consider the sole purpose of the Boss 302 to be a road course monster. While the Mach did receive some suspension improvements over the GT, the car is more at home at the strip with the 4v. The handling of a stock Mach isn't bad but it's nothing to write home about. They tend to under steer at the limits.

Historically, the Boss has always been faster than the Contemporary Shelby.

It's the just the baddest mustang you can own, a ready-to-race beast.

Real Racing, not any of this straight line non-sense.

The only time historically the two model names were produced at the same time was '69/'70. There was the Boss 302 and the Boss 429, along with the Shelby GT350 and GT500. The Shelby's were more driver comfort oriented than the Boss's were. With that said, you could get a SCJ 428 in a GT500 w/the drag pack and race pack and it was pretty stout. The Boss Mustangs had two completely different characters, so I wouldn't say that they were made to handle. The Boss 429 was completely straight line oriented. It had a heavy Boss 429 that made understeer very prevalent. The Boss 302 on the other hand had a high revving small block and was one of the best handling cars you could buy in the late 60's.
