2012 Mustang pricing - the GT gets a price cut
Thanks to the folks at Edmunds, the prices are available for the 2012 Ford Mustang and while some prices have gone up, the cost of getting into an entry level Mustang GT powered by Ford’s new 5.0L V8 has dropped.

Good to know that it is a little cheaper, but too bad the '12 GT is exactly the same as the '11 GT.
Ford should have dropped in a better breathing air intake box & filter, and they should have put in a better tune.

They never really change the HP between a generation of the Mustang. The 2010-2011 was probably the only time it happened, but probably because they had to because people were sick of the aging 4.6 and the Camaro and Challenger were kicking the Mustang's *** with it's crappy 315 hp.
I doubt the power will jump significantly for the GT til the redesign....

I don't foresee them changing the 5.0 for at least 5 years and by them maybe they will add gas tax to the car. Who knows dark times for the sports car ahead. I really can't see a 7 or 8 speed gear box in any manual car.

No, it better not happen. It'll be like the late 70's thru the mid 80's all over again.

I really don't think you see that. I bet the mustang will still hang on but it would be a GT500 price tag only and no more lower models due to really poor sales. Its already happening, GM kill off the Camaro once already and the sales are still really low numbers. But would they kill the Corvette off to save the Camaro nope. The medium and low end sports cars are going away and more folks are going with used cars over new ones. Plus I think if the 2026 gas plan go's in around 2016 its pretty much the end of the V8 for anything but a full size pickup truck. Then again I guess it maybe 6 bucks a gallon of gas by 2018. Its still a very poor outlook anyway you look at it.

All the more reason why we car enthusiasts need to get out and vote those damn green overzealous out of office. By remaining silent, we will have to suffer from overly restrictive EPA laws and regulations. This also has the very unfortunate effect of driving car companies to give us wimpy cars and also, it causes companies to go to "dirty" countries like China, India, and other countries that do not have ANY kind of environmental laws (or very little environmental laws).

Except e85 dosnt give the same gas mileage as normal gas . And has been proven it takes to much corn to produce a barrel it would be more efficient to use corn as food e 85 or ethanol in general is a failure
