cant be real. Now way ford would release a car that looked like that. That would be begging people to go get a chevy.

Yes ^ but its not really much of a change in style to even say its a redesign.

The sleeker design is more worthy of a redisign statement and one that I like better

Nope a 4 cyl turbo is not even new to the Mustang 1884-86 SVO turbo
Mustang SVO horsepower and torque ratings by year
Year Power Torque
1984 175 hp (130 kW) @ 4400 rpm 210 lb·ft (280 N·m) @ 3000 rpm
1985 175 hp (130 kW) @ 4400 rpm 210 lb·ft (280 N·m) @ 3000 rpm
1985.5 205 hp (153 kW) @ 5000 rpm 248 lb·ft (336 N·m) @ 3200 rpm
1986 210 hp (157 kW) @ 5000 rpm 250 lb·ft (340 N·m) @ 3200 rpm

Not exactly a ton of power but in 1980s era remember that Red Ferrari 308 Magnum PI drove around in the 80s only had 208hp US model and 255hp in european models
So 210 ho in 1986 in that old fox body was not that bad. for a car that's MSRP was 15,970 (but that was $6000 more then the GT 5.0 (old push rod 302V8) But it actually had more power per/lb then the V8 GT

I think that has to do with the upcoming Ford/GM merger.

I'm okay with that for the same reasons I love Porsches... total redesign isn't always needed... evolution of design is just fine so long as the rest of the car is adequately changed/updated/upgraded... techonology, performance, interior design, etc... can all be updated and still be considered a redesign in my head.

Ford builds me a car that looks like that with 400+hp, a v8, ability to row my own gears, and an IRS and I'll be ready to trade my beloved 5.0 in immediately

Default Power Power Power?

Love the proposed style of the 50 year Stang but to compete Ford has got to get the weight down and offer an independent rear suspension as an OPTION.Image a 600HP 3300 Mustang .Never mind keeping pace with the Camaro. Set your sites higher.

I'm with you on that. I'll jump on that if they build it that way.
