Default 2011 and 2012 Mustang RECALL???

Ford Mustang, VW Jetta TDI Under Investigation for Safety Issues | AutoGuide.com News

Both the new Ford Mustang and the new VW Jetta are facing possible recalls as a result of ongoing investigations by safety officials.

The Mustangs in question are those from the 2011 and 2012 model year equipped with a manual transmission, with reports from owners stating an inability to shift into gears while merging into high speed traffic or while turning left across oncoming traffic. A total of 32 complaints have gone through NHTSA on the Mustang.

On the Volkswagen Jettas equipped with TDI, seven complaints have been filed alleging a leak from the fuel line to the fuel injector. NHTSA has also received one complaint from a VW Golf equipped with the 2.0L TDI. Incidents are being reported between 2,470 to 7,764 miles and could impact 40,000 Jetta TDI vehicles.

Both of these cases may or may not result in recalls.

i hope that they force ford to issue TSB. from all ive read ford has simply decided to put a bandage on the situation of the transmission issues. they have also denied MANY people warranty repairs. it seems like ford simply decided to cheap out and now it's coming back to bite them in the ***. rumors are also floating of a class-action lawsuit. hopefully they simply decide to stick oin the gt500's tremec, but that's wishful thinking.

Is this a new thing beyond TSB 11-3-18? That's the one that fixed cold shifting issues by changing the transmission fluid.

I believe that TSB was Ford's attempt to fix the issue. So it should be the same one. Never the less the fix only seems to have a 50% success rate based on what I have seen.

Thanks. Good to know. I'm looking to buy a 2012 with that tranny, so I'm a bit concerned over this issue being resolved.
