OEM, Recycled. or After Market?
My car was in an accident two weeks ago (which was not my fault). The insurance company told the body shop to fix the fender among many other things. The body shop told the insurance company that since the fender was buckled in two different places it would be best to replace the fender and that they had got a quote for a Ford OEM fender. The insurance company stated that they would not pay for Ford OEM parts. They would only pay for recycled or after market parts. Can I request that the replacement be a Ford OEM part?

you can demand OEM replacement parts. This is an insurance company directive to save money on all repairs. If you put your foot down and refuse anything else they will play ball. Demand Ford replacement parts, painting to include 75% more area to be blended so the repair is seam less, and ALL painted areas to be sprayed, not touch up bullcrap from a brush bottle. If they don't want to play ball threaten litigation (go get a "free" initial consultation with a Lawyer) once the L word shows up they tend to buckle rather quickly..... lawyers fees will have to be paid by them and you will still get what you are asking for.
