Damn kids, with their iPhones and whatnot, always carrying them around. For a teen in California, though, it – and a roll bar –- saved his life. More »

Yeah,brain surgery is no biggie.

No but seriously this guy is one of the luckiest people in the world! Kinda makes me want to invest in a roll cage though

I'm so torn, when we have kids and they're old enough to drive, one part of me wants to give them my car (yeah, the 06 will be a classic in 2028) but another part of me thinks they should learn in the ****boxes I had as a kid...

Low powered ****box when they're 16, Mustang when they're 18 or older depending on how responsible they are.

Depends on the kid. I got a Mustang GT for my first car and I drove it responsibly.

I'm not quite sure how this kid accidently drove off a cliff.

There was a story here just recently, dad bought the kid a Lamborghini, and he proceeded to wipe out at high speed and killed his 3 friends. I believe in the above theory of giving a new driver a lower powered, non sporting car for at least a couple of years. Add to that, make them save money towards the next car, I think that also makes them more likely to be more responsible with it. Kids will always do silly things, but they will be more encouraged to do sillier things in a sports car. My first car, given to me by my parents, was a tomato red '82 Toyota Tercel. The first car I applied my own money to was an '88 Mustang

I am very happy that this guy can wear a t-shirt making fun of it after the fact!

I remember reading a few years ago about a boy who was given an M5, proceeded to gloat about how he was going to take it on a high speed run on a runway in florida or somewhere, and ended up crashing and killing everyone in the car with him.

This is it: http://jalopnik.com/350252/bmw-m5-crash-details-emerge

I don't like Jalopnik's tone to it, despite his stupidity, people did die in this.
