Well it is a Mustang Forum....and like many have said it sounds to be alot cheaper in the long run with the 5.0. Me myself, I never found the vette all that appealing to look at so its easy to guess what I would go with.
I didn't think I was biased. The Vette is what it is- a 2-seater sports car. If you can live with that compromise, then by all means go for it. The Mustang may have a barely-useable back seat but at least it HAS a back seat.
Let's see, Vette has no back seats. Mustang has back seats only a midget could use anyhow. Vette-0, Mustang 0. Honestly who sits in the backseat of a car when they're driving it anyways? Tell you what, get the car you like best. If it's an exotic type car that compares to Lambos you like the get the Vette. If it's a killer muscle sport car then there's never been a better Mustang than the one they're making RIGHT NOW! Skip the Challengers and Camaros, pure poseur cars both of em!
I say go with 2013 5.0. You'll have more fun modding it. Nicely modified GT's get more attention than C6 Vettes. The only way I'll own a vette is if I could get my hands on a Z06 or ZL1. Just my opinion.
Doubtful you will find a premium in your price range. Maybe a used one in a year or two but, what's your definition of MID 20K? 24-26K or 26-28K which is more upper 20's...?
Oops, I meant ZR1, had a slip up. Not going to lie though, a ZL1 pulled up next to me the other day.. not half bad. They sound nice. The 285 tires in the front make it look mean. Forgive me
