The One Tweak To The 2015 Ford Mustang That Will Change It Forever
Ever since 18th-Dynasty Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten drove one, the Mustang has been known for its use of a solid live axle at the rear. The decision to keep the Mustang with a solid axle instead of independent rear suspension has been causing heated arguments for years. But now, the Mustang will go IRS. So what's it all mean, anyway?

Yea, but the IRS is only good as it's half shafts; here's a good example for those of us that launch our cars hard:
look at the Camaro ZL1 half shafts. Bigger is better in this case or a slight offset....LOL and I hope Ford equips the new stang with the proper size half shafts and not repeat the early 2000's Cobra IRS that broke more then it should of! I've always been weary of IRS but, the dudes I know say the ZL1 could handle the abuse:
This is a pretty good IRS:

"If you’ve squeezed more power out of your Camaro’s engine, you want to make sure the rear end can handle putting it to the ground. This kit features the specialty components from the production Camaro ZL1, including a larger, stronger 9.9-inch cast-iron differential housing, stronger axles, and a heavy-duty limited-slip differential. This patent-pending system is designed to ensure that ZL1's tremendous power is smoothly delivered to the ground.
A rear-differential cooler is incorporated and reduces temperatures in the differential by more than 100° F (fluid lines must be installed). Asymmetrical half-shafts – a 60-mm hollow shaft on the right and a 33-mm solid shaft on the left – offer different torsional stiffness rates that work with the limited-slip differential to minimize the chance of wheel hop on hard launches. Keeping everything moving is the included, stronger ZL1 prop shaft".
This is a ZL1 & 1LE Camaro rearend kit for a Camaro SS.....which GM should of installed in all Camaro V8's, hope Ford gives us the good IRS so we don't have to upgrade to what the future GT500 will have ....put it in the GT at the start and do it right!!
