If imitation is indeed the greatest form of flattery, then Mustang owners should be glowing every time they see a Camaro.

Duh, the Camaro has been chasing the Mustang since the sixties.

I think that the first lesson you learn in school should be: Yes, Camaro copies Mustang!

The Mustang did come first, so the Camaro will always be seen as the follower. Do I think that Chevrolet has copied Ford with their car in certain areas over the years, absolutely. I think Mustang has taken cues from Camaro's over the years as well.

But this new Camaro design was already complete before the current Mustang was released.

Kvally: We all knew pretty much what the 2015 Mustang was going to look like well over a year before it's release. I suspect GM had that info long before we did, and in plenty of time to tweak their design. ;-)

I think designs are YEARS out, and the ability to react, while possible, would most likely not be anything other than some exterior cosmetics. The frame, body, tend to be set in stone, especially considering it was designed on an existing platform (ATS).

I tend to believe both companies get ideas from each other though, but somethings are just too late in the process.

Kind of a silly question. By definition the very 1st Camaro in '67 was Chevy's copy of a Mustang in reaction to the '64 and a half model's massive success, nothing has changed. The same could be said of the Challenger except it took Chrysler until '69 to introduce it.
