That's only 232 cu in and a 260 was the smallest V8 I'm aware of. Fake news. Love that new term.

Sounds like a custom job, maybe a bored-out version of the 3.4 SHO V8 or something.

No such thing. 3.8L was/is a V6 engine and the block is smaller than a V8 block because well....it's missing two cylinders. Small/Big Block nomenclature is used for v8 motors only. No such thing as a Small or big block v6.

221 (3.6L) was the smallest Ford V8 produced from 61 to August 64, before the mustang was released in 64.5.

it's possible a Mustang protoype from 61-62 had the 3.6L in for a test motor but there's no info on that. It's speculation and again, a 3.6L.

The dude sounds like someone trying to impress a girl with his "knowledge" about cars... Keeps talking because it sounds good and could be plausible but no concrete facts to back it up so it's hard to argue :D

That is not universally true though.

Many big V6 motors are V8 blocks with 2 cylinders missing, but it's still
the same block. Dodge's 4.7 V6 is the V8 block, with 6 cylinders. Chevy
4.3 Vortec V6, is the V8 block with 6 cylinders. Just don't know what, if any,
ford motors, where they do the same thing.

You missed the sarcasm in that post ;) A v6 will be smaller than the V8 so it would be called a "small' block compared to the V8 because it is physically smaller.... crickets....

The 221 was the first Windsor V8, and did not last long... Never heard of them being in any Mustang
from factory. Any 221 put in a mustang was after the fact. There is a you-tube video with a header
that says PHX221 in a 1968 Mustang, but the air cleaner top has 289 on it.

Don't event think there was a PHX221, which would be a higher performance one, like when the
PHX260s were made for Shelby, but only 100 of those were made.

The early "1964½" Mustang offered the 260 V8, although that was dropped at the end of the 1964.
They did not get the PHX260.
