All the S550s have the 8.8 differentials now, I read, but there's no way the 10-speed automatic
will last long if you hammer it all the time. I would immediately add a heavy duty trans cooler
to it. Any dodge I bought that had an A604, I installed a medium duty trans cooler, and never
had any failures. Not that this is anything like that, but, heat is THE #1 killer of automatics.
A stand alone cooler won't do it either, RAD first, then AUX cooler. The temps fluctuate too
much with a stand-alone cooler. I had planned on getting a rad with trans cooler for my '08,
then to the cooler it came with after the rad. This way, the rad will get it down to 190, 185,
then another stage cooler afterwards. The cooler it has now really isn't enough for the 5R55.

Ok, so that's for the automatic. If someone gets the manual then it's going to have the MT82? Probably with an upgraded clutch but same shifter handle/synchros/etc? Because I doubt the regular GT MT82 can handle that power unless it's a rebuilt unit from a good trans shop like Ben Calmer(?), or a different unit like a TR6060.
I would be impressed if the motors on those cars are still original after three years.
