To some degree it may cut into V-8 sales but consider that the 4 cyl car is much cheaper so easier for young people to afford the car and to afford insurance.Its a lot cheaper for me to insure a V-8 Mustang than a guy in his 20s. The 4cyl is affordable to insure for the younger crowd.Fords strategy is to put a young guy in the 4cyl hoping he will upgrade to the V-8 when he can afford it.
