Cobra test drive (Hilarious)

RE: Cobra test drive (Hilarious)
I don't know if it was just the ZR-1 or all Vettes at the time but there was a valet key that limited what you could do with the car.
As far as my car goes I make it a point to leave it with someone I know at the dealership. Their are only a couple of dealerships I'll leave my car at. It was at a Lincoln/Mercury dealership because I knew no one would be taking it for a joy ride.

That's why you buy a ignition box with a rev limiter and put in a really low RPM chip so they can't go fast.
But anywho, that guy was an A$$hole for what he did, even thou he bought the car.

Nice to see there was a happy ending to the story. The thing is it's not just the people who test drive these cars you have to worry about. You have to watch out for some of the guys at the dealership. I was out at the street races a while back, 10+ years ago, and there was a guy who worked at a local Ford dealership with a brand new Probe GT, magnetic dealer plate and all, racing people over and over. After I got my car back from being fixed at a Lincoln/Mercury dealership a few weeks ago I found that all the young guys were checking my car out and wanted to take it for a drive. My friends uncle was the service writer. He kept the keys in his pocket.
After hearing some of the stories car salesmen have to go through I don't think I could do the job TattooTears and FoxRod do. You are putting your life in the hands of a total stranger. [&:] On another note some dealerships allow you to test drive cars on your own. I got to take out several different Mazdas by myself a few years back.

actually that guy who drove it goes by the nickname of Evil SS. and its on the street racing dvd of Scandoulus racing. and 2 day later he bought the car and the salesman thought it was a joke all the way through the paperwork. but he did by it. that was a LS1 lover won over by another Cobra.

When I test drove my 04 Sentra, I had it up to 90 on the backroads... the sales guy was holding on for dear life. lol
When I test drove my Civic, I couldn't get up past the speed limit cause my dad was with me. [:@]

I remember test driving an Escort GT many years ago and the salesman was pretty cool. He had an SCCA license and drove the car pretty hard. I got to test drive a Mazdaspeed Miata and an RX-8 by myself which was a lot of fun. There's a really nice section of curved and banked on ramps near the dealership that are all connected. Used to go out and watch the bikes run through them. They would make one big loop. Called it 9 turns I think.
