shooting at iron is a sport called Silloutte shooting. it usually pretty safe cause AP rounds are not used in small arms Silloutte shooting. only expanding bullets which pretty much disintigrate on Impact.

however the 50 uses steel core or depleated uranium cores and can easily bounce back if the steel is too tough or the distance is far enough to prevent penetration
