damn.
pretty cool.
when i was calling around to get my heads port & polished the shop told me for the stock 5.0 mustang heads, the program they used would cost me $700! that doesent include anything but the port and polish!
(new springs, valves and etc could easly add another $200 for STOCK heads!)

yea man CnC is freakin cool. I never understood y they costed so much. After that video you can understand all the man hours that go into just 1 head is crazy. Id like to call AFR and actually find out.

Yeah that was damn cool. here is what still gets in my ***. all the movenent is pre programed into the machine. all they do is enter the model of the head and the desired parameters and hit enter. all the engineering is done. its not like every set of CNC'ed heads is literally one off. they still stick ya on the price.

cncs are like 100-200k a piece. its takes MANY MANY hours to program a script for one head. and you have to program a diferent one for a different head. im taking machine tech classes at school right now and plan to start my own shop with CNCs and whatnot.

Lots and lots of time go into the first head. After that, it's simply machine time. That's the big advantage. Once you write the program, each head after that is pretty simple - lock it into the machine and let the computer do the rest. Another big advantage is that you get the exact same product time after time. Very important for the racing crowd.
