Yet another newbie!
I've been lurking here for a while kinda checking things out and picking up some excellent information. This seems like the best Mustang forum around.
I recently inherited my late brothers 1964 1/2 Mustang. It's a "D" model - 289 4v with a 4 speed manual. It seems mostly stock with a few added performance parts - Edelbrock intake manifold, Holley 600CFM carb, Headers, tracktion bars and dual exhaust thru the rear valence. The interior is trashed. It looks like it's been painted in the last few years and then parked. A lot of the chrome and exterior trim hasn't been put back on yet. So far I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points and changed the engine oil and filter. I have a carb rebuild kit on order. I'm getting ready to drain the gas tank and try to fire it up. The body looks really good and solid. It was in Texas for most of it's life (as far as I can tell) and my brother brought it up to Delaware about 5 years ago and has only driven it once or twice since then. I know he was working on it but I'm not sure exactly what it needs yet. I'm taking it slow and working on it when I have time.
I'm not a mechanic but I am fairly handy and mechanically inclined ( I'm a copier repair tech by trade) and I used to due regular work on some of my older cars a few years ago. I'm sure to have a lot of questions and hopefully I'll even able to help some else along the way.

RE: Yet another newbie!
Kevin, you're going to have one awesome car when you're finished with her. Wish I could find a good project car like yours! I'm sorry to hear about your brother, btw.

RE: Yet another newbie!
My Dad bought a brand new 64 1/2 auto with the 260. Green with a black top. He went to Michigan and picked it up at the factory. Then in '68 he traded it in for a new F250...idiot...
