New Purchase

In the 80's I had two GT's. Since then I've had two Mercedes AMG's, a 500 HP Porsche 911, a BMW 325I and a Vette C6 and C5. I really went for the styling of the new Mustang and picked up an 06 GT, black on black with stick yesterday. Didn't buy this car for speed alone after a mind numbingly fast Porsche and an E55. The looks, sound and feel of the car are what sold me on it. Going with just one mod for now, a Borla cat back exhaust. I look forward to reading the posts and getting helpful hints, especially on possible upgrades to the Shaker 500.

Thanks for the welcome. After ordering my exhaust I put a coat of Zaino wax on before taking a 100 mile round trip to Connecticut. I'm very impressed with this car. So far there's nothing I don't love about it. The sound system is very good and I may not even mess with it. Boy, they've really improved this car since my 87. I'm going out with my daughter tomorrow to help her look for a BMW convertible and she wants to drive the Stang. I lay odds that after she takes the wheel we never make it to a BMW dealership.

RE: New Purchase

My wife says I'm never satisfied. The Porsche was so heavily modified that when the clutch went it took a local mechanic a month to fix it. I figured it had to go and with the sale profit I invested in the market when it was at its lowest and sold when it went up and bought a C32. For one reason or another I went through an E55 and two Vettes. My track record isn't good as far as keeping cars, but I have to say that I find this GT as fun to drive as anything I've had except for the Porsche. I guess I'm like a lot of you. I alternate between wanting to listen to the exhaust as I wind it out and listening to the stereo, which is a very good stock setup I must say. The power and handling are excellent and I find it handles bad roads very well. Can't wait to get the Borlas installed.
