Default THE NEW GUY ON THE FORUM.

HEY WHAT'S EVERYONE. I AM THE NEW GUY ON THE BLOCK. I RECENTLY AQUIRED A 1987 FORD MUSTANG GT WITH T-TOPS. I GOT FROM A SECOND OWNER WHO BOUGHT BACK IN 1989 WITH 30,000 MILES ON IT. KNOW IT HAS 150,000 BUT ENGINES RUNS GREAT. THIS MUSTANG IS IN GREAT SHAPE. HE STARTED COVERTING IT INTO A 1993 COBRA LOOK A LIKE. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARGE FOR LAST NINE YEARS. WITH ALL BRAND NEW PARTS ON IT THAT NEVER HAD SEEN THE STREET. IT HAS BRAND NEW COBRA R RIMS AND TIRES, NEW HEATER CORE, STARTER ALTERNATOR, RADIATOR, BATTERY. ALSO IT HAS A FULL TUNE-UP DONE. THE BRAKES WERE UPGRADED TO CROSS DRILLED ROTORS HEAVY DUTY CALIPERS AND STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE LINE WITH REAR DRUMS BEING REBUILD. ALSO HAS 2 INCH DROP ALL THE WAY AROUND WITH BRAND NEW KYB SHOCKS, STRUTS AND QUADS. ALSO THE T-5 HAS BEEN REBUILD WITH A BRAND NEW CENTERFORCE CLUTCH. MAC HEADERS AND FLOWMASTER STAGE 2 EXHAUST. COBRA REAR BUMPER ALREADY INSTALLED ON THE CAR. I GOT THE CAR $3,900. I GOT GREAT DEAL CONSIDERING THESE CARS ARE VERY HARD TO FIND.

Why would it be hard to find? It's a GT being converted to a Cobra look-alike. To most that would be considered rice, since you're going to make it look like a Cobra and it's not going to be a Cobra. Please remember to turn your caps off from now on. Other than that, welcome nooB.

I HAVE QUESTION. WHEN I LOWERED MY MUSTANG 2 INCH ALL THE WAY AROUND. I ALSO UPGRADED MY RIMS TO COBRAR RIMS WITH 17/9 IN THE FRONT AND 17/10 REAR WITH 255/40/17 TIRES. MY FRONT LEFT FENDER IS BOTTOMING OUT ON LEFT FRONT TIRE HARD AND IT RUBBING ON THE FENDER WELL. SHOULD I JUST GO WITH A DIFFERENT SPRING SIZE ALSO CHANGE THE FRON TIRE SIZE TO 235/40/17. OR SHOULD I UPGRADED TO 91/93 FRONT FENDERS. THANKS JACEK

Hey bud,
Grats on the buy and welcome to the forum You SHOULD be fine with the 255s. I definately wouldnt go smaller then that. How did you lower the ride? with new springs or did ya cut them? I really dont see how those rims/tires should be that much of a problem. Maybe you could just raise it 1/2 an inch and go with a lower profile tire, like a 255/35/17 series. Hope that helps and once again get some pics to us

Default RE: TIRES RUBBING INNER FENDER

I HAVE A 2 INCH BY EIABCH SPRINGS ALL THE WAY AROUND AND KYB GT2 SHOCKS. MY FRONT LEFT TIRE RUBBERS ON THE INNER FENDER. ALSO IT BOTTOMS OUT ON ALL THE BUMPS. I WILL PROBABLY GO TO 1 INCH ALL THE WAY AROUND THAT SHOULD SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I WILL HAVE THE PICTURES AS SOON IT STOPS RAINNING IN MASS. THANKS JACEK

the more i read your posts the more i start to agree with you...i mean really, how is a poser cobra hard to find?

and i know theyre not like around every corner, but t-top stangs arent that rare either really...maybe the 87's could be considered so since theyre the only 87-93 with them...but still...whateva
