New here... with new 06 GT...
Greetings to all,
I'm new here, and just wanted to say hello. I just took delivery of an 06 GT Coupe/auto in Torch Red. I would have preferred a manual in Sonic Blue... but I got this car after a truly destructive hail storm had damaged nearly every car that was outside anywhere in my town (estimated 150,000 cars in the area). I've never seen hail that big... no exageration, it was the size of lemons-baseballs. Anyway, the local FoMoCo dealer has been trying to get rid of the hail damaged cars... so I took advantage of a pretty great deal. Even after I have the damage fixed, i will have saved over $4K. I didn't think I'd be crazy about the auto trans... but it is actually pretty nice and very responsive. I've owned a 2000 GT and 2001 Cobra (both manual coupes)... but this car handles a ton better than those cars did. I took it out today and went thru some of the rolling hills around here and this thing feels klike it's on rails! I'm not even all that familar with it and I was easily taking 40mph sweepers at 75 without any sense of "I'm going too fast." I'm very impressed with the power and the handling.
So... just wanted to pop in here at the new members forum... off to read about mods!
