My first Mustang......finally!
Hi Everyone,
Well after many years of wishing, I finally got a Mustang. I bought a 2006 V6 on Memorial Day. I just got tired of driving home in my 2004 Chevy Aveo wondering why I don't have the car that I really want. I saw a dark red 2005/2006 V6 while stuck in traffic a few weeks ago, and it got me looking online to see how much they cost. I was surprised to see that the prices were reasonable, so I ventured off to the local Ford dealership. This was the same dealership back in 1989 where I almost bought a 1990 Mustang GT. I didn't because the car insurance was like $4,500 a year, which I couldn't afford as a 20 year old. I ended up buying a 1990 Ford Escort GT. Talk about downgrading! Anyway, I was able to get the Ford dealer to pay off my Aveo which opened up the door for me to get a Mustang. I was looking for a yellow one, but that was like impossible to find anywhere. Next choice was the green one (My wife liked that one), but again could not locate one. I liked the black model, but my Aveo was black and I didn't want another black car. The salesperson showed me a Redfire V6 on the lot, which I liked, and made the deal a few days later. I got $2,000 in rebates, which really helped. I would have liked to get the Pony package, but the payments were just a little more than I wanted to spend.
Here's the specs:
2006 V6 Coupe Deluxe (Redfire Metallic)
Automatic
Exterior Sport Apperance Package
Power Driver Seat
Anti-lock brakes w/ traction control
I still can't believe that I got one. This is the car that I always wanted. I wanted the 1987 GT model when I was a senior in high school. It was well worth the wait! This car is a blast to drive. I drive 70 miles a day for work, so I figured that I might as well drive in style!
It is such a pleasure to see so many people in here posting about their beloved Mustangs. This is a great website. I'm glad to be a part of it.
I just took a picture of my Mustang. Sorry about the quality. It's been raining here all week, and I used my wife's camcorder to take the picture. In closing, the first thing on my list is to tint the side and back window. I never did modification to a car before, but I'm already dying to modify this Mustang. I feel like I'm going to get hooked on Mods, just like I did with my synthesizers (Gear lust).
Update: I'm having a problem uploading the picture. Picture size is fine. It may be my Mac. I try sending another post using my laptop.
Thanks!!!
