89 LX 2.3
hello all!!! i am brand new to the world of mustangs. my previous automotive history has been strickly imports, Mitsubishi mostly. but an engine is and engine, right!!!!
anyway, i have recently purchaced an 89 Mustang LX 2.3L. its going to be a little fixer upper, but i like non the less. it has around 99,200 miles on it and has very minimal rust. and $100 how could i say no. it doesnt run, but thats only a fuel pump fix, and i put new plugs and wires in it.
ive done some minor matienence to the 2.3L engine already;
- removed EGR (no state emissions so im good)
- removed A/C (didnt work and dont use it )
...and well thats pretty much it actually. then i have gutted out the rear of the car to clean and see if i can find some differant color interior instead of the ugly faded red that was in it.
my plans are to make it a hot rod car mostly, but im going to put a 351W with all the goodies on it, and upgrade the suspension and all the other good stuff too. i was thinking of turboing the 2.3L but i like the idea of a massive V8 with a whole *** of torque. ive been dealing with 4 cyl turbos for to long now and i want something different.
well thats pretty much it, if anyone can point me in the right direction on where to go and how get started that would be great. Thanks in advance for all the help!
