Noob checking in

Finally back into the Mustang scene again. My wife had a 86 GT that she bought new off the dealer lot (back before we were even dating!), and we sold it in 1998 with 185K miles and it was still running strong. Well, we just "inherited" her mom's 35th Anniversary Special Edition GT Convertible (only 32K miles on it). The owner of their local Ford dealer had built the car for his wife (cat back, Cobra rims, aftermarket springs, shocks, tires) and she didn't like it. Dad-in-law got a good deal and bought it for mom-in-law. She can't drive anymore, so they gave it to us because they knew it would have a good home. Not sure what we are going to do with it yet...return it to stock? Go all out on the mods? Something in the middle? Who knows.

Later!

Well, went and picked up the car this weekend. Had to break the news to them that just because it has the 35th Anniversary emblems, does NOT mean that it is the Special Edition model. So, looks like we have a plain GT convertible, and not the special edition. But, that actually makes things easier in regars to what we are going to do with the car. Not a Special Edition, so there is no reason to return it to stock... Also, after crawling around under it, some of the other "work" that was done is also questionable. Car appears to be stock hieght. It does have 17" Cobra R wheels, with 245/45/17 Kuhmos (which, in my opion, suck). It doesn't sound like a stock GT, but the mufflers have Ford stamped on them...Did the Cobra R get a different exhaust?

Well, lots to do today. Car had been sitting for about 6 months, so it needs some cleaning.
