2006 Mustang Forever
New to the site. I know I responded to an old debate, the Junk SRT4's and Cobalts, but I had to. I have a 2006 Pony Addition Mustang V6 with a Cold Air System, True Dual Exhaust, Computer Upgrade at 93 Octane, 4:10 Gears with Traction Lock ready to install and runs 15.23 Sec. in the 1/4 mile at this time, Vista Blue with Tan Interior. One thing I can say is, the mustang is built strong, looks like the Mach I of old and is defintely a WOW!! Factor. The simple upgrades have gotten the car to run 15.2's without the 4:10 gears. The car feels heavy, stable and rides smooth. It hugs corners like I have never felt before in my older "stangs I have had. The 500 stereo sounds great and the leather is comfortable. Interior room is tight in the back and the trunk leaves alittle to be disired. I get more people asking questions about it than I do with my restored 66 mustang. It is a blast at the drags, expecially when you see a tail pipe smoking SRT4 only running 14's (In my day, 12's and 13's were fast) and Cobalt's that run high 15's (without Supercharger and even only 14's with supercharger) and my car weighs almost 4,000 pounds according to the door sticker. The Cobalt and SRT4's look more like a light weight Go-Cart with NO Protection for the passengers, and, Thank God my daughter wasn't with her Ex-Boy Friend when he wrecked his SRT4. It was totalled, according to his parents, and it was a 35 mph T-Bone Accident during a Racing session down a main street in Orlando, Florida. He spent 2 weeks in the hospital. What a piece of JUNK and what an Idiot He Was !!! This Mustang should end up being like the mustang of old, keeping its value, especially if its one of the first, and give us many years of great times. Even the Chrysler's Refrigerator on wheels couldn't peak peoples interest for long, unless your 80 years old. The new Chevy Camaro, from what I have seen, tries to hard to copy the mustang looks, with its sharper edges but doesn't come close to what you percieve as the old style. Even the interior is sparse looking, if the pictures are accurate.
Buy a Mustang. You see more old mustangs being restored or still around today , than any other car.
