New User, Questions on Buying a Stang
Howdy,
I currently drive a 1999 F150 XLT Offroad, but am looking at buying a 1996-1998 GT. While I could afford a 1999, and enjoy the upgraded engine, but I am looking to save some money on my monthly payments. I have a few questions about buying a Mustang of this vintage.
1) I'm 6'3", how well will fit in a 96-98? How do other tall people fit in these cars? I know in 99 they added a couple inches of seat track travel, so would it be possible just to swap in those seat tracks and gain the same amount of travel?
2) Am I being crazy by thinking I can pickup a 96-98 GT 5-spd, with leather and the Mach 460 stereo and less than 80k miles for $8500 or less?
3) Anyone in Colorado know a dealer that will look for a specific car for me and not rob me blind?
Thanks for the help in advance.

RE: New User, Questions on Buying a Stang
if you are 6'3" then it might be a tight fit for you. I dont think the hardtop will be as small as the convertible though. I would definatley test drive a couple before i bought one though, just to make sure that it was a comfortable drive. I'm not sure if you could switch the seat tracks out with a 99+ or not, but you could prob go to a dealership and they could tell you. You shouldnt have a problem at all finding a 96-98 GT 5-spd with mach, leather, and less than 80K for under $8500. You can probably find a well kept 96-98 GT with what you are looking for around $7500. A great place to look on the net is somewhere like autotrader, or you can look in local car/truck trader magazines and you can usually find some in there.
