Lowering springs, better handeling at the cost of slower 1/4mi?
I just bought an 06 GT about a month back and am trying to decide the direction I would like to go with the mods. As everyone here knows the stock suspension setup has a huge gap between the tire and the wheel well, so my first order of business is to improve the look and handleing of the car by getting some eibach lowering springs and tokico dsp12 gas shocks. This combination seems to be the most popular among mustang owners. My only concern is, when looking at the basics of drag racing a car should have a suspension that will allow the car to lift in the front and squad in the back thus allowing the vehicle to transfer more wieght and power to rear tires. If the rear end is lowered with stiffer springs, does that not reduce the ability of the car to squat and affect the cars ability to transfer wieght and power efficiently? This article for example refers to "corret ride height" http://www.musclecarclub.com/library...ing-tips.shtml Or is the oposite true? Is this the reason that most lowering springs lower the rear more than the front? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Gabriel
