Just a quick post to introduce myself and my rides...

I bought my first Mustang in 1993. It was a low mileage, bone stock '89 5 litre LX notchback. It served as my daily driver until the summer of 1999 when I put it up for sale, knowing I'd be leaving town for school in September and getting married in October. Our western Canadian winters required me to think practical and I had bought a '95 Explorer earlier in the summer. I still remember the moment I saw some stranger sitting in my baby to start it up and I changed my mind about selling it. Fortunately he offered me less than my full asking price so I was able to get rid of him and I promptly removed the 'For Sale' signs. I parked it at my future mother-in-law's place on Labour Day weekend of 1999 and it sat outside for 6 years, aging quickly.

While I had the LX as a daily driver, I had bought a '57 Ford as a summer toy. In the summer of 2005, I ran into a storage issue and had to sell off something. I decided to get rid of the '57 and use the funds to put my LX back on the road. I got it running again and was able to get it registered for the first time since 1999. It still needs a lot of TLC but it's fun to putter with.

In the meantime I fell in love with the s197 as soon as I saw it but was in no position to get one of my own...yet. I started my own business in 2003 and thinking economically, leased a Focus. In the spring of 2006 my business was doing well, the lease on my Focus was expiring, and my birthday was coming up so I took the plunge and treated myself to a fully loaded black GT with a black leather interior.

What turned out to be kind of neat is while the '06 Mustang was my first brand new car, my dad's first brand new car was a '66 Mustang that he bought almost 40 years to the day earlier.

Feel free to check out some more pics of my Mustangs at the webshots album I have linked here as my homepage.

Thanks for taking the time to read about my 'stangs and I look forward to getting some good advice here on the forum.

Lee
