Default New Ford owner.

I just bought an '89 Mustang Gt. I said I'd never own a ford. My prev cars include a 1990 GTA, a 1993 Z-28 a 1997 WS-6, A 1999 WS-6 and a 2001 WS-6. I sold my '01 last spring to raise money for some investments and this summer a highshool friend decided to sell his car so I bought it. I'm still not a real ford fan, my whole family has always owned Vettes. I can't get used to the feel of the car it just feels different. But I just ordered an intake, exhaust, 3.55 gears, short throw shifter, sf-con, st-brace & a 180 T-stat, so who knows maybe I'll like this thing. I just can't believe how cheap the parts are for this car, there half the price they were for my LS-1. I'd love it if anyone has any ideas on what I should do with this car? It's fun but it just doesn't put a smile on wy face like my Trans-am could.

Congrats on the new purchase...and yes...stang parts are ALOT cheaper that anything...especially Fox Bodies...really easy to build on too...well it sounds like you got some money in your piggy bank so i'd wanna go with some new Heads, Cam and Intake package...i heard that the Air Flow Research heads are the best heads for the 5.0 then probably Edelbrocks

Hey welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll like the car! They are great machines, but it sounds like you have a negative attitude towards them! Oh well, have fun with it!

I don't really have a negative attitude towards them, i've just always been around GM's. I bought it just to beat, but the more I drive it the more I think I could have fun with it. So I think I'm going to follow STANGMANG's Idea's and see what I can get out of this thing. And I'll try to take his other advice, I've got Yankee's Red Sox tickets for the 24th so I'll swing if I see a blue and white hat!

Holy crap that is alot of parts. Someone has been saving up. Good for you. Mustangs are great cars you can do anything that u want to them. They are not the fastest or the most expensive, but I would take a nice suped-up mustang over a vette any day. Good luck.

Welcome.

Sounds like you're just not a pony fan, but hopefully after you work on yours, you'll change your mind.

This seems to be a great forum. I really don't know much about mustangs, except what I read in the kills section of LS1Tech.com haha. But I've found almost all the answers to my questions by just searching through the old posts.
