Quick question to any of you experts about my 88'stang. Should I go with 373 gears or 410 gears? I like to drive my stang daily and I'm worried about the strain I might be putting on my tranny if any. It has 108,000 miles on it but seems to shift good with no hesitation Thanxs for your time and thoughts in advance.

daily driver, then you should put in 3.73's.

3.73's is really the steepest I would go personally with a 5.0... If you have a 5speed you may prefer 3.55's

i agree w/ MD. 3.55's will still give you a HUGE diff in acceleration, and youll still get SOME gas mileage. haha.

So I should go with 3.55s instead of 3.73s or 4.10s? I have a friend who wants to race me with his "slowmaro" which has 3.73 gears. Do you kind people think I could "blow him in to dust" with 3.55 gears considering I have a lighter car then his or doesn"t that make a difference. THANKYOU for everyones input. I appreciate it!!!

All gear ratio's cannot be looked at the same. 3.55's on a fox mustang is the equivalent of 4.10's on a newer 4.6 GT. 4.10's on a fox body SUCKS!

I have 4.10's in my stang and really considered 4.30's... but if I had a fox I would run 3.55's or 3.73's
