New Member Here - 06 Mustang Convertible V6
I have been reading posts on this forum for a while and finally joined today. In August I almost bought a new 2006 Mustang GT Convertible, but couldn't talk myself into spending more than $30K for a car I didn't plan on driving in winter (since I live in WI). On Oct 27th I found a used (only 6 months old) 2006 V6 Convertible for under $20K. The car is loaded with Leather, Shaker 500, interior upgrade, power seat, etc. The color is redfire metallic which I wasn't sure of at first, but now really like.
Of course I would much have preferred the V8, but this one fits in my budget better and was probably the only one I could talk the wife into letting me purchase. I told the wife the Mustang is the best "family" sports car since it has child safety seat hooks and a roomy back seat to take the kids along (two girls 2 yrs and 3 yrs old). I have to admit now that the back seat actually isn't as roomy as I hoped for and when I take the kids along I have to sit much closer to the steering wheel than I would prefer, but I am still very happy with the purchase.
I've already added a couple cosmetic upgrades, but more on those later...
I just wanted to send out my first post and thank everyone for all the information on this site. This is a great forum and I found it to be very valuable for me in making my purchase and decided what upgrades to do.
