Default New person here.

Hi. I'm new here. I just graduated college. I don't have a job yet so I am left with a lot of free timethat results inideas. My lastest idea is restoring my mom's 1977 Mustang Cobra II. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to cars and I fully expect that I will have to have most of the restoration work done. paying for it is great motivation for finding a job, huh? I had hoped to learn about cars while working on the car my self, but I realized I don't have the tools for doing a project like this or even any sort of knowledge.
The body has minimal rust and a few years ago a new gas tank and several other things were done to it. It has been parked probably since 1984 and driven only for a short time around 2000-2002. It does run, but I suspect that there is more mechanical work to be done. A new paint job and interior will be needed. I have contacted the company for the original specs and optional things that may have come with the car. I suspect that the paint job was custom done by the factory. Instead of the navy blue stripes there are red ones and the interior is some sort of red plaid. I know that my mom repainted it once, but she redid the red and white. She told me that she thought it came from the factory as a custom job and I am inclined to believe her, but I have no way to know for sure.
I would appreciate any and all helpful suggestions and ideas when it comes to looking for people who can help me restore this car. Thanks so much. I look forward to learning about these cars from all of you.

Welcome!

Your best bet would be to read up on some topics in the classic section, there's a lot of resto info there.
