Default Test drove a V6 and a GT today...

This was the first time I have driven a late model Mustang. I have to say I was really surprised by the V6. Much louder and stouter than I expected, plenty of power for me. It was a stick and quite a bit of fun. The GT was an auto and I never really got into the gas, but it sure sounded nice. This is going to be a tough decision. I got an insurancequote of $1200/year for full coverage on the GT, I will get a V6 quote tomorrow. Decisions, decisions.

If you can afford it go for the GT, heck even if you can't, go for the GT.

The V6 may feel stout now, but I know that a couple of months down the road you'll wish you got the V8. I've seen and read it so many times, whether it's cars, trucks, motorcycles, people always want just a little more, and throwing money at a V6 to make it faster is just a waste, get the GT first, and be happier in the long run.

Wow...$3200 a year is a lot. I am assuming you are young so I believe its normal. I get it for $1200 full coverage as well. Go Mercury, it's the cheapest.

Edit: To keep in line with the post...get the GT. You will not be making a mistake. Cheers!!

I pay $2400 a year. On my 2005 Taurus SE. My Stang isn't insured yet, cause it's just sitting there waiting to be perfected.

If there is any way, I'd get the v8. You'll be more happy with it andnot wondering, man what was I thinking. No replacement for hp.

I went with the V6 for 2 reasons, price of car and insurance cost.
As far as wanting more horsepower, you can always add a turbo or super charger later.
With the money you will save with the V6 you can use that money to buy the mods you will want to do.
I bought my 06 w/Pony package used and even with the money I am spending on a super charger it was still cheaper than buying a GT.
