Default Problem with parking brake.

I have a 1995 mustang convertable. My problem is when I put the parking brake down. The light stays on. Someone said to check the brake fluid, and thats fine. Also when I turn on my head lights my clock on the dash goes out, and the dash dims. Any ideas?

Default RE: Problem with parking brake.

The brake light staying on is the Parking Brake Switch that's connected to the parking arm. If you look down where the arm goes into the center console you'll see a wire hooked up to the arm. Where that connector is, is the switch that's either sticking or broken. Get some electrical cleaner and spray it down in there working the arm up and down. If that doesn't fix it, replace the switch $10 at the most.

Where you pull to turn on your headlights, twist the ****, that controls the brightness of the dash lights. Should also fix the clock.
