Default need advice for a regular 2006 mustang

hello everyone. i'm new to this board so i may have trouble here if you can bear with me. i didn't know where to ask and i don't know too much about the mustang. all i know is that it's a regular, because there's only one exhaust pipe. anyway, my co-worker, has a 2000 mustang and he added an additional exhaust pipe plus he added something to his engine called a "cold air?" i'm not sure what it is but it makes the car sound more louder when you gun it down. plus he said it makes it go faster. to make this story short, i was wondering if there is any possible way to make the mustang go a little faster and make it sound like aGT, a wanna- be GT, i guess. my co- worker spent less than $300 to fix it up. i was wondering what is the cheapest way to supe up the mustang. like i said, i don't know too much about the car. need help, thanks. this is what the regular mustang looks like, except it's suppose to have silver stripes.

If you want to learn about mustangs, this is the place to be. If you havea V-6, there is a forum just for that. There is also a forum for your model(year) of car. You can have any exhaust shop install a dual cat back system, and with the right mufflers, you will have better(deeper) sound than what you have now. A cold air intake will help your car breath better, and with the exhaust, you will have small hp gain. I dont know if this will be felt in the cabin as you drive it, but it may. I suggest you get with the guys in the fourms I have mentioned and see what they say. Also, do your homework, there are tons of parts out there that are not worth the money. That does not mean there are not tons of parts that are worth the money, just do your homework, read alot about what you are wanting to do and ask lots of questions on the board. We will help you. Keep in mind, there will be some smart ***** to deal with, but it is all in good fun, and we have a ball! Pick you up a copy of 5.0 Mustangs and Fast Fords, tons of write ups and articles with real world results. I think there is a article in this months edition about what you are looking at, could have been last months. But you get the idea. Welcome to the board, have fun, use the search feature.

welcome to the forums. you'll learn alot of stuff about the v6 stang in the v6 section. the most popular performance mods are exhaust upgrades and intake/tuner combos.
