1991 lx Conv. 5.0,door speaker
Hi, everyone this is my first post on the site.
I've recently bought a New receiver (Alpine cde9842)and a set of door speakers(Polk db650) for my mustang.The recevier works fine but even tho the car is equip.with wiring harness in the door panel for speakers, when I hook it up, there
snothing there.My speakers came with a harness that fits the harness in the door.any help out there.

Did you splice around the factory amp located directly behind the head unit? The speakers will not work unless you delete the amp. You will have to find the 2 plugs that you will need to wire into the factory wiring on the back side of the amp.

There was no amp.just the factory cassette am/fm radio.I took it out,pluged it the two wiring harness that came with the Alpine CDReceiver into the two factory harness,and the third harness connect to the Alpine CDReceiver.Tied all the wires together by color.Alpine Radio/CD receiver works,
Then I pluged in the Drivers side door speaker(Polk)into the Plug that was there.Nothing,no sound?
( There was no doors speakers with this car,but it does have a speaker plug Equip.)
