Greetings everyone! I need advice!
Hey everyone,
So, I am a recently new Mustang owner. After many years of being a "Chevy" guy, I have finally bit the bullet and jumped to the "Darkside", purchasing an 04 Mustang GT Coupe. I figured what way to better familiarize myself then to frequent a forum discussing topics that i am interested in knowing about my new vehicle etc.
So....
I am really excited about tricking my new girl out, but I must admit, I am a pretty big "noob" when it comes to what is best for a Mustang. I was hoping that someone here might be able to steer me in the right direction to getting my car fixed up nicely.
I am not looking to go big just yet, but simply make the essential minor upgrades to my car for now, and am looking for advice on which brands and parts i should choose, so here it goes.
Exhaust - I am partial to Flowmaster and was looking at picking up a simple cat-back system for now. I know i want to get a full exhaust system at some point (Cats and headers) but I dont know if it is best to do it all at once, or if getting the cat-back would be sufficient enough for now. In addition, what is your opinion on Flowmaster, do you recommend another brand, i.e. Borla?
Intake - Looking at getting the K&N intake system, plastic tube. Is there a significant difference in performance between the aluminum tube and the plastic one? Which would you recommend? Would you even recommend K&N, or is there another brand i should look into?
Suspension - I hear Steeda is the way to go, is this true? I don't know if i want to go coilovers, or just outright springs/shocks/struts etc. I know i want to get sway bars etc, but honestly have no clue what the best route to take there is. What brands are good in this area, im partial to Eibach, but of course like i mentioned up above, Steeda has been popping up everywhere i look.
Thanks again, and i look forward to chatting with you all soon. Hopefully I will get some pics soon. I just got the car hehe.

Welcome to the board. To get an in depth discussion for your model, check out the 4.6 forums. Those guys can put you on the right path. Flows are good muffs, and is what I run. Steeda has great parts and there are a number of sponsors that sell to MF members and give discounts.
