Premium vs Deluxe
Hey folks, I'm new to this forum but not Mustangs. I've been out of the Mustang field for a while, but want to quickly refresh myself so I can go do some "educated" shopping between now and the first of the year (2008). I 've owned a 64 1/2 coupe w/225 horse 289--anybody remember when 4V stood for four barrels, not valves??? Then I drove a 1972 Convertible, 351Cleveland, 4V, automatic for about 8 years and then went to a '92 triple black LX, 5.0, 5 speed for a few years. Right now I don't have a "personal" convertible (see my signature for fleet info) and I'm getting a hankering for a V8 convertible! I've been shopping the newer Mustangs, '05 and up. What's the new body designation?
I've had my heart set on a '03-04 Cobra with the supercharged 4.6, but age, arthritis in my clutch foot, and necessity (wife will drive it a lot) have put me on the track of an automatic. So, I'm looking for an '05 or newer GT automatic. I drove one yesterday for the first time....wow, what a sound and what nice, smooth acceleration. My '92 was by far the quickest car I've ever owned. It had the optional 3.08 rear gear and was just like lightning! The one I drove yesterday was even that much more a kick in the pants!
So, now to my question......I see GT Deluxe and GT Premium Mustangs listed all over the internet, carmax, cars.com, etc. But really, what is the difference? Is it the interior trim? I prefer the painted 5 spoke (Bullit) wheels, are they a Deluxe or Premium feature? I'm not crazy about the brushed aluminum 18's, but so many of the used ones I'm looking at have them......
Can anyone give me a good thumbnail sketch of the differences in the '05 and '06 GT Deluxe vs GT Premium convertibles?
Thanks in advance!

RE: Premium vs Deluxe
The packages have changed since '05, but my premium package included leather, power seat, 6 cd changer/mp3. My manual shift came standard with 3.55 gears. Also bought the sport interior package that added leather steering wheel and shift boot.
