Hey all,
I am looking at getting a stang but don't know what to do. I want one that will keep up with the 99+ lightning's. Should I get a 4.6 or a 5.0? I was thinking of getting a cheap LX and dropping a nasty engine in it. I would like to spend around 12g's to do it. Any and all suggestions are welcome. welcome to the forums. I say get a Fox body mustang and either forge and blow the 5.0 or drop in a 351w with a blower.

That would be nice, but are they street legal? I just want to do everything right the first time and have a nice fast stang.

Hmm i dont know if you can do everything with 12g's, That engine is around 7, thetranny is probably atleast 2gs, than you need diff, all the mounts, suspension, control arms, full exhaust with cat cuz you need to pass the smoge and a lot of other sh*t, lets say you can find the foxbody for 1g, than body job paint job, and where is the labor to instal all that, its more than 12gs for sure.
The best thing is buy a modded foxbody with a enigine swap and all that, I saw some nice ones for sale in chicago, i dont know maybe they have some nice ones for sale close too you.

Ya, I wasn't sure about keeping it under 12 but thought I would ask. Rite now I live in Hawaii. I will be moving back to AZ in a couple of months and I know I can find one there. I am just trying to get some info so I know what to look for. Maybe I don't need an actuall 400hp, I don't know. How much HP do you get just from changing the heads, exhaust, headers and a supercharger?

I think any fuel injected choice would make a great car......and start better in all kinds of weather.
