Default Couple of questions need help

Hey guys this is my first post haha.

I need a couple of answers.

I'm looking to buy a mustang gt. (hopefully 03-04 cobra within 5 years) I just wanted to know what kind of horsepower I'm looking at with a diablo sport chip, borla exhaust, intake, injectors, possibly gears. You might hate to hear this but I'm also looking at f-bodies. I love the way mustangs look but for the money the f-bodies have more power. My buddy has a 2001 trans am with headers, gears, intake and an exhaust and he just kills anyone. Thats why I'm asking what kind of power will I have with those mods.

Welcome! That all depends on what you go with. Base models of the F-Bod, if I remember correctly, are like 200 something. 03-04 Cobra's are around 390 or so. With those mods, on the Cobra, you will get up to about 460 crank HP, and about 420 RWHP. That would kill your buds Trans am. I am not so sure however of the f-body but I know the power will be completely different, seeing as the cobra is an Icon of mustangs when it comes to power.

if that is the case, you will be at about 340 Crank HP, and about 300 RWHP. Which is pretty good.

Gears do not give much power. The tune will give you about 30 crank HP, the injectors, about 30-45 crank hp, the exhaust, maybe about 20 crank. Convert that to the wheels, about 10-15 RWHP for the tune, about 15-20 RWHP for the injectors, and about 5-8 RWHP for the exhaust. That about adds up to 300. Now, if it is just an axleback exhaust, you are only looking at about 2-5 RWHP. Either way, 300 RWHP, will put you in the low-mid 13's.
