Default Texas Newbie

Just bought this last week for $ 6,000
this is the description i saw on CL

1969 Ford Mustang Coupe

I have had this car for many years and been working on it as I had time and or the patience. It started out with a factory 302 V-8motor and automatic C4 transmission with drum brakes all the way around. It now has the following upgrades and or modifications:
· Fuel injected 5.0 bored 30 over out of a 93 mustang, serpentine belt and under drive pulleys
· 4 core radiator with electric fan
· T-5 transmission out of same 93 mustang with cable clutch linkage
· New fuel tank with electric fuel pump
· New starter, battery, alternator
· New steering gear box (flaming river brand)
· Front sway bar upgraded to 1 1/8 inch diameter
· Rear sway bar added along with heavy duty rear spring shackles
· New shocks and springs all the way around
· New ball joints, tie rod ends with a fresh alignment
· Disc brakes on all four by Stainless Steel Brakes Corporation
· 16 inch wheels and tires (205/55R16)
· Flow master exhaust system

This car needs to have a windshield installed; no I do not have the old one. There are some other minor adjustments on the window tracks that need to be done. I do have new: carpet, steering wheel, door panels, passenger seat cover (the other three covers are installed) that need to be installed.

This a real solid fast running car I was building it for me to drive not to sell so I did not take the cheapest way out. I don’t have the motivation (money) or patience to complete it. I do start it and drive it around every week for approximately the past year the motivation has not returned so it is time to sell.

This car did have factory A/C but it does not work now, it needs a condenser and hoses the compressor is on the motor also of the 93 mustang.

Unfortunately I have not kept good records of what I have spent guessing around 7200 in parts none of my labor figured in.

I am only asking 6500

OK had the car for a week now and the parts i ordered the first day are comming in:

1) condensor
2) chrome nose trim spring clips
3) visor rubbers
4) window cranks, and *****
5) door handles
6) back up lights
7) door panel clips
8) window sissors
9) package tray cover
================================================== ============
A) in driving the car i really miss not having a tach

B) the speedo doesnt work (have not investigated why)

C) The black gauges are hard to see, there is no white face gauge kit available (i dont like the indeglo)

D) i dont like how the tail lights are not very bright

E) i cannot find a passanger side plastic piece above the glovebox

F) i am a cheap ****.

my thoughts are: (i am fishing for how you would solve these problems cheaper than me)

A,B,C) The car is a restomod so i am not worried about keeping it original, i am thinking about ripping out the gauge cluster and replacing the factory gauges with aftermarket, a big Speedo, and a big Tach, small oil, coolant, fuel, voltage (similar to white faced autometer gauges) in the factory bezel.... i think i can do this for under 500$
something like this (i know its not the same but you can get the idea

http://www.geocities.com/kvinkler/gauges/gaugefull4.JPG

D) Why Cant i just go to the parts store and buy the 6$ LED replacements total 36$

E) i am continuing to search for one (mine is cracked and missing pieces) all i can find on there is woodgrain w/clock (mine is black with no clock)... Thinking about molding a small piece of Fiberglass with a MUSTANG emblem embeded. should be an easy fix... under 30$

F) there is no hope[/align]
