Default new guy from arkansas

Just joined the forum. Not really a computer guy, can't show any pictures. I have just finished complete restoration of 66 coupe with stock 69 302. Iam getting 66 FB ready for paint. Just put mustang II IFS crossmember in. Iwould like to put a big block in this one. Any thoughts on 352 v 390?

Welcome to the forums, do you mean 351? As for the fitting of the 390 I'm not too sure, you should drop by our Classic Mustang section and talk to the guys. I know my buddy has a 351 in his 65 Fastback, so I know that's doable.

Best I can tell the 352 is a big block but with a shorter stroke thana 390 or 428 which I have been told is better for a light car like a 66 FB. I think they were in older galaxies and pickups.

Oh, I had never heard of a 352, I guess it's time for some research. Have you had a chance to introduce yourself in the Classic section yet? They might have some more solid answers for you.

Oh alrighty, looks just like what you said, a smaller bored and shorter stroked 390, so if you can find some info on swapping a 390 into your car I think you should be alright. Though I am not sure.

Bore on the 352 is 4.002 in. and stroke is 3.500 in. while the 390 has a 4.052 in. bore with a 3.784 in. stroke.
