Hi guys, I'm new to this site and have a lot to catch upon i guess. I have a few questions. My plan is to buy my brothers mustang, but i dont really like the engine it has. It has the 3.8L. The car is a 1999 model. I would like to switch the engineof a 4.6Lfrom aGT. My plan for the car is NOT dragbut a street car to use everyday. i want to have a car with some good ponys behind it (about 400-500hp).By switching the engine, what other mods do i have to look into. I thought i read the 3.8 and the 4.6 have the same tranny and engine mounts, but i'm not to sure. I know that to put a 5.0 i have to switch the computer, engine, tranny, and maybe the differantal. I not to sure. I'm open to all options... The reason it the the 3.8. is not to stong and it give just a little more gas mileage... I willbe running the 3.8. untill i have the other engine fixed up decently and/or the 3.8 gives. but its in good condition still so i'm in no hurry of fixing the other... So if you could please help me out with your thoughts of what i should do. Thank a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!
